Why can't I send mail? |
|
Many users, particularly Verizon DSL and RCN Cable customers are experiencing trouble sending email although their mail clients are configured properly.
It may be possible that your ISP has disabled access to port 25 for spam control purposes. To fix this problem we have enabled SMTP on port 26 as well.
To send email using port 26 in Outlook Express click on "Accounts" in the "Tools" menu and then select the account that you would like to modify. Then click on "Properties," then click on the "Advanced" tab. Then change the outgoing mail port from 25 to 26 and click on "OK." You should now be able to send email. |
